But I don't see how I can live every day in that way. I don't see how I can not care what others think and how they see me when that's such a part of who I am. It's not the only part of who I am, but if I didn't have it (and I have been cutting it off slowly or trying to), I would be so bored with life. I haven't read your blog, or any blog, for a long time, but I used to follow it and I remember enough of it to be sure that you are a person whom, if I were with you, I would like. Of course that's not of much relevance now. You need to be sure that you like yourself, and that will be enough. There are times when I know my wife doesn't like me; but I don't care. I am a fairly happy man, but I haven't always been: only since I stopped caring what others felt about me. Happiness and contentment is ninety percent your own responsibility. Even a hundred percent. <br /><br />You don't need to trust College Guy, if by that you mean be quite sure he will do what you want him to do. Very few people are entirely trustworthy anyway. You say you love him; but if that means you are dependent on what he thinks of you, you need to get out of that "love" straight away. It's like a disease, it saps your strength.
